Trieste is a cosmopolitan city where it is possible to live a multicultural atmosphere.
The city, with the Adriatic on one side and a karst promontory on the other, is also called “the little Vienna on the sea”, and offers a characteristic mixture of languages, cultures and religions.
The heart of Trieste is the most beautiful and most symbolic of all its squares, Piazza Unità d’Italia, which is the largest square facing the sea in Europe.
The Castle of Miramare stands on the top of the promontory of Grignano. Its position overlooking the sea provides the possibility to enjoy a wonderful view over the Gulf of Trieste, which is also the location of the regatta “Barcolana”, the most important event of the city.
